The Nanda Devi Temple, a key religious site, is revered by both locals and past rulers in Almora. This ancient temple, known for its sculptures and views, holds profound significance. Positioned in the Almora district, it honors a deity considered the daughter of the Kumauni people and protector of Kumaon and Uttarakhand.

A noteworthy event is the Nanda Devi Raj Jat (Yatra), occurring every 12 years. The deity, symbolized as a sheep, adorned with jewelry, embarks on a procession to Trishul Peak. The celebration includes folk songs and dances, adding enchantment.

Dating back over a millennium, the temple is dedicated to Nanda Devi, patron of the Chand dynasty, situated within a Shiva Temple. The structure features a stone amalaka and wooden roof, adorned with intricate carvings and statues, depicting divine scenes.
